Anria, who is currently director of the Mikkeli Theatre, is due to start her new job next year. The current director, Jouni Rissanen, will leave the theatre at the end of the year.
Anria, who currently works as the director of the Mikkeli Theatre, will start working in Savonlinna during 2024. A more precise date will be agreed later.
The theatre director was chosen by the board of the Savonlinna Theatre Association.
According to Anria, choosing a new theatre director is a challenging process, taking into account a certain amount of leeway and the current employer.
– My contract in Mikkeli ends in the spring of 2024. Savonlinna theater has been looking for a director, I know Savonlinna’s theater history and repertoire, and I can stay in Savo, commented Anria.
11 people applied for the position of theater director in Savonlinna, four of whom were interviewed.
Anria has also served as director of the Riihimäki Theater from 2003 to 2012.
