The purpose of the Jelppi group is to support people in rural areas to cope with life’s hubs.
In South Savo, activities are being launched to help rural residents with everyday challenges.
The Jelppi group is a group of volunteers who offer temporary free help with cleaning, gardening or other everyday tasks.
You can ask for help from the Jelppi Group, for example in the event of divorce or illness.
According to Kalpa, Jelppi has only received positive feedback, but asking for help can be difficult for Finns.
– We have a very strong culture of coping in Finland. There is a sense of shame in the patterns, which may even lead to unasked for help. I wish it would be understood that everyone has moments in their life when they need Jesus.
Jelp’s operation started in Etelä-Savo last fall and now there are two volunteer helpers.
The volunteers have not yet made aid visits in Etelä-Savo, but the plan is to activate more activities at the latest when there are more helpers. The search for new support staff is currently underway.
