The construction of the organ in Ylivieska church, which has been stalled for a long time, is now moving forward. A foreign organ builder is being found to take over the organ work.
Ylivieska parish is negotiating with an Austrian organ builder to complete the unfinished organ project at the church of the Holy Trinity in Ylivieska.
The work will cost around half a million euros to complete and will take at least a couple of years to complete. The idea is that the new organ builder will be able to use parts of the organ that have already been built.
At the end of last summer, the Finnish organ builder Martti Porthan Oy, which was originally awarded the organ work for the new church in Ylivieska, announced that it would not be able to build the organ.
