Lake Tiilikkajärvi National Park won the title of Outdoor and Nature Tourism Site of the Year in a public vote. Koli came second and Komio third.
Tiilikkajärvi National Park, on the border of Kainuu and Savo, has won the 2023 Destination of the Year competition. Tiilikkajärvi National Park received 826 votes in the public vote on the retkipaikka.fi website, just over a third of the total.
Tiilikkajärvi National Park, located on the border between the municipalities of Sotkamo and Rautavaara, has been described as a wonderful combination of easy hiking and wilderness, north and east, forests, lakes, marshes and paradisiacal sandy beaches.
There were six candidates for this year’s Destination of the Year, with a total of 2 446 votes cast. Koli from North Karelia came second and Komio from Kanta-Häme came third.
The 2022 excursion location is also in Kainuu, as last year the title was won by Puolanga’s Hepoköngäs.
