According to THL’s monitoring statistics, the recruitment of new employees, on the other hand, decreased last year.

The number of personnel working in round-the-clock care for the elderly has been increased in Finland. The matter is clear from the monitoring statistics of the Institute of Health and Welfare THL.

In Päijät-Hämee last November, there were a total of four elderly care units that fell short of the number of nurses.

In the nursing homes located in Heinola, Iitti, Lahti and Sysmä, the nursing staffing was below the statutory nursing staffing, which is 0.6 employees per client.

Caregiver ratio remained at 0.59 in Heinola’s Honorary Consul in Saarnikodi, Päijät-Häme welfare area service center in Onnelanpolu in Lahti, and Attendo in Kaisla Sysmä. In Iiti’s Salmi home, the nursing staff ratio was 0.56 in November.

According to THL., the number of staff in round-the-clock care for the elderly is increasing, but in home care, customer visits and recruitments have declined.

The recruitment of professionals for home care has decreased by almost a fifth in six months.
