Tahko Sky Oy has sent an application to the city of Kuopio to reserve land in the center of Tahko. The purpose is to build a hotel of more than 1,700 floor square meters on the plot.

A new hotel is being planned for Tahko. Tahko Sky Oy, which plans the hotel project, has sent an application to the city of Kuopio to reserve land in the center of Tahko. The booking application is directed to block 260 on Keitänkatu.

Savon Sanomat was the first to report on the matter.

According to the application, it is planned to build a carbon-neutral hotel in the area, which will have almost 30 premium-level apartments. About 1,760 square meters of floor space are required for the building right of the hotel.

The size of the plot to be reserved is just under 2,000 square meters. In the site plan, the area is designated as a block of buildings serving tourism.

During the reservation period, the plan is to negotiate a land transfer agreement and create a property for the construction project. Since the access to this property is via the neighboring building, the encumbrance agreement must also be negotiated.

The agreement regarding the land transfer is prepared for the urban structure committee to decide separately.

The area is free to reserve. The project is seen to have positive effects on the area, as it would increase Tahko’s accommodation capacity and bring more jobs.

The Kuopio Urban Development Board will consider the application at its meeting on February 8.
