Ehrnrooth thinks why the sports and rural outfit of the British gentleman of the late 19th century has become the world’s leading costume.
The new year in the world’s youngest country started badly: Six journalists were imprisoned. The President of the Republic had dropped his pants in the middle of the speech and the information should not have been passed on.
However, I have another interpretation in mind.
The historical superiority of Western culture is based on the indisputable absolute values \u200b\u200bof objective beauty, truth and goodness, which the classical forms achieved in striving towards are so good that all the cultures of the world want to adopt them. The men’s suit is a parade example. Classical music another. Beethoven played from Paris to Beijing.
Due to the high achievements of our culture, the opponents of Western supremacy are allowed to fail again and again. After the imperialists have been expelled, the president of the world’s youngest independent state will not greet his people in the costume of a tribal chief. He goes to a London tailor and makes himself a well-fitting suit of a British gentleman.
Even in Arab countries, those men who want to appear learned and intelligent often wear the same uniform that I myself wear in business contexts. A full suit or a more casual combination that refers to it always tells the same story.
It still amazes me why women who break glass ceilings haven’t started wearing tailored men’s suits more than they do now. To me, all citizens look equally stylish in a men’s suit. If, for example, every representative in the parliament wore a waistcoat, the pursuit of the general interest would be even easier.
Without the equality of individuals and full freedom rights, the best fruits of the market economy and people’s power will not ripen. Do China and Russia want to remain inferior?
The suit of the British gentleman gives Western freedom and equality a magical edge.
