The ice speedway race in Messilä harbour on Saturday is the semi-final of the World Championship series.
Hollola will host an ice speedway on Saturday. Held on the ice of Lake Vesijärvi in Messilä harbour, the race will qualify the drivers who will compete for the Finnish championship.
Ice speedways are circuits around the track on motorbikes with long spikes on the tyres. The organisers say that the track at Messilä is in race condition, although weather conditions have varied a lot in recent days.
The public is advised to wear studs on their shoes, as the viewing area is also slippery. Permits for the paid event have also been applied for for the next two years.
