The hit musical Frendit will be performed in Helsinki this autumn, and Antti L.J. Pääkkönen in the role of Chandler

Singer and actor Antti L.J. Pääkkönen first came to fame in the Tenavatähti children’s singing programme and has since worked as a voice actor, among other things.

And yes, he is also a Tenavatarti winner from 1992. Pääkkönen sang her way into the hearts of both the jury and the audience with the songs *Vanha vault church* and *Takapulpet’s girl*.

– Admittedly, every time this topic is brought up, a little voice in the back of my head says, “Do we still need to talk about this?”, Pääkkönen said in the Half Seven programme.

– But then again, I understand that. Let’s say, for example, against the background of Finnish cultural and popular history, that Tenavatähti has been a really big thing.

Tenavatähti was a children’s singing competition organized several times in the 1990s.

In addition to the fact that Pääkkönen does a lot of audio work – in addition to dubbing, he also reads audio books, you can also see him on theater stages.

Soon he will take the stage in Seinäjoki city theater’s *The* *Addams Family* musical and something unique is coming next fall.

– The Frendit parody musical is coming to the Aleksanteri theater in Helsinki.

The musical is based on the super popular comedy series Frendit, which was produced for television for ten years.

The parody musical production in question has previously only been performed in Britain, Australia and the United States. So this is the first time that the musical is translated into another language.

The musical to be seen in Finland in the fall has been prepared in secret. Pääkkönen is visibly excited about his role.

– Well, I’m Chandler! I don’t have permission to talk about the rest of the occupation yet, it will be published later, but I am uncontrollably excited to play that role, Pääkkönen felt.

– Rehearsals for the show haven’t started yet, but the preparation has already started. The purpose is to go through all those episodes of the series, Pääkkönen mused.

As a big fan of movies, Pääkkönen performed a potpourri of famous movie tunes live. Watch the entire broadcast on Areena.
