Lahti Museums crowned Museum of the Year, award for Noot’s name change
The Museum of the Year Award is presented by the Finnish Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Finnish Museum Association.
The museums of Lahti have been chosen as the museums of the year. The award was presented on Thursday at the Museum Awards Gala in Pori.
Lahti’s museums include four different sites: the Ski Museum, the Historical Museum, the Mastola Radio and TV Museum and the Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva. According to the jury, the museums’ renewed, determined and impressive activities also renew the image of Lahti as a city.
The Museum of the Year Award is presented by the Finnish Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Finnish Museum Association.
The Museum of Eastern Relations in Tampere, the Noti, the former Lenin Museum, awarded the Museum of the Year Award with the communications of the Espoo Museum of Espoo from Tokyola to Tapiola. According to the jury, the name change was a difficult and socially significant communication process that could have easily fail.
