Eight unfinished projects and a name change – this is what we found out about a company planning a data centre in Rovaniemi
FCDC has been touting a huge data centre project in Rovaniemi. The company has projects all over Finland, but no data centre has yet been built.
FCDC Corp, which is planning a data centre in Rovaniemi, has several data centre projects in various parts of Finland, but has not yet started building any.
FCDC is a real estate development company. At the very least, it looks for potential sites and acquires land for centres.
According to Leinonen, the project development phase will take several years.
– We currently have eight projects in progress. These projects do not compete with each other, Leinonen says.
In addition to Rovaniemi, there are at least Mikkeli, Kerava and Lahti.
Terho says that FCDC joined the data center association for the establishment of Finnish data centers this week.
– Yesterday, their membership application was approved by the board, Terho said Wednesday.
Mäntsälä project now moving forward

FCDC was founded a year and a half ago under the name Fincap DC Corp.
The company changed its name in November last year shortly after Yle released the story about the company and its finCap connections.
Real estate investment company FinCap has been in public due to its financial difficulties.
In addition, Talouselämä has reported how Oma Savings Bank has granted risk-based loans for business-related businesses.
Jaakko Leinonen tells Yle that FCDC is not part of the FinCap Group. However, the same people are influenced by FinCap and FCDC.
However, Joonas Viita-aho is only marked as a consultant in FCDC.

Susanna Viitala, Chairman of the Rovaniemi City Board, believes the project will be completed.
