Result of Andritz’s change negotiations: 77 redundancies across Finland
Negotiations on changes affecting more than a thousand workers ended with 77 redundancies and layoffs.
Change negotiations launched in February by Andritz oy, a manufacturer of equipment and systems for the pulp and paper industry, have been concluded.
As a result of the negotiations, a total of 77 people will lose their jobs. At the start of the negotiations, the company estimated that there could be up to 170 redundancies.
In addition to the redundancies, the company is implementing layoffs of more than 90 days this year.
The layoffs and layoffs are targeted at Andritz’s locations in Kotka, Varkaus, Savonlinna, Lahti, Tampere, Helsinki and Vantaa.
Caused by global economic uncertainty
In total, change negotiations concerned about one thousand employees at different positions and locations.
In the negotiations, alternatives were sought for redundancies. For some of the staff, new tasks were found in other units of the company.
The negotiations are based on the uncertainty of the global economy and the continued to decline investment environment in the pulp and paper industry.
The company aims to ensure competitiveness and to ensure the long -term development of the business in Finland.
