Number of unemployed jobseekers remains high in Lahti, but fell in March

The number of unemployed jobseekers fell in Lahti in March.

During March, the number of unemployed persons fell by 120. However, the number of unemployed jobseekers is still high compared to last year. Over the year, the number of unemployed has risen by 900 people.

In March, there were nearly 9 000 unemployed jobseekers in Lahti. This is about a tenth more than a year earlier.

Improving the unemployment situation is challenging for the city as the number of new jobs has decreased significantly. In March, there were only 773 new vacancies in Lahti, compared with over 2,800 jobs three years ago.
