According to the EU’s Copernicus climate service, 2024 was the warmest year on record for Europe. Europe is the fastest warming continent in the world due to climate change, according to a joint report by Copernicus and the World Meteorological Organization.

Last year, an exceptional geographical variation in European weather patterns was observed. The eastern part of Europe was exceptionally hot and dry, while western Europe experienced above-normal rainfall and flooding.
