Fazer launches negotiations on changes at Vantaa chocolate factory – plan to build a factory in Lahti moves forward

Around 450 people are covered by the negotiations. The company says it aims to make an investment decision before the end of June.

Fazer says it will start change negotiations with the staff of its Vantaa chocolate factory.

The negotiations involve around 450 people, i.e. the entire staff of the chocolate factory. The negotiations will start on 22 April 2025, the company said in a press release on Monday.

Negotiating changes is part of the investment decision-making process. Fazer’s communication says in a statement that the negotiations are taking place so that the company can move forward with the investment decision.

Three years ago, Fazer announced that it would be building a confectionery factory in Lahti and said it was only planning to move the preparedness of chocolate products from Vantaa to Lahti, but would keep the sugar sweets manufacturing in Lappeenranta.

The company says the goal is to make an investment decision before the end of June.
