Äänekoski invests in tourism – visitors will be attracted by canoeing routes and Akseli Gallen-Kallela, among other things

Äänekoski, known for its forest industry, also wants to be known for its natural attractions.

In the coming years, Äänekoski will invest in the development of nature and water tourism.

The town has received funding from the EU through the local Leader Viisar for the €100 000 Experience Lake Keitele project. Äänekoski’s co-financing rate is 20%.

The city intends to take concrete steps to improve services and accessibility to tourist attractions in the area. The project will make use of the know-how of entrepreneurs in the town of Äänekoski.

In addition to water, travelers are also aware of the mainland.
