The university is seeking funding of up to €3 500 000 from the City of Lahti and companies in the region.
Depending on the amount of funding available, the new programme could have between 50 and 75 students. In future, students could study business studies in Lahti from the bachelor’s to doctoral level.
The city aims to start the maximum number of students in the new degree program.
– This investment will certainly give birth to many times that in the form of investments in the area. As far as I think this is very worthwhile, says the mayor Kyynäräinen.
According to the mayor, there is a shortage of highly educated financial experts in the Lahti region. He also believes that the new training will give rise to new business in the area.
This creates an internationally oriented business school in Lahti.
\”It will certainly bring new perspectives, especially for international trade,\” Kyynäräinen estimates.
