City of Lahti staff reduction without redundancies
No one will be dismissed. The number of employees is falling, partly due to retirements.
The collective bargaining negotiations with the City of Lahti have ended. No one will be dismissed or laid off.
At the beginning of the year, the city government set a target to reduce the number of city staff by 168 person-years by the end of 2027.
According to a study carried out by the service areas, the number of city employees will be reduced by more than 100, partly due to retirements. In addition, temporary contracts will be terminated and no new posts will be filled.
Plans to reduce staff will be included in the budgets for the following years.
