The legendary Rovaniemi Hotel Pohjanhovi is renewed – the nightclub will give way to meeting rooms

Scandic Pohjanhov’s extensive renovation is carried out in two parts. The new entity is completed in the 90th anniversary of the hotel 2026.

Known for its long history, numerous stories and significant guests, the doors of Hotel Pohjanhovi in \u200b\u200bRovaniemi are now closed.

– I would say it will be very warm.

During the renovation, Pohjanhovi’s famous nightclub may give way to the meeting, banquet and event facilities. The hotel will also be built in a gym. According to Karjalainen, the aim is to meet the needs of the modern traveler.

– We want to modernize our services with meeting and event products. We also want to provide activities for our guests.

The first part of the renovation will renew the rooms above the hotel restaurant. After the next winter season, it is the turn of the rooms above the reception. The restaurant area and reception will also be renewed. New multifunctional facilities and gym are being built. The hotel rooms will be completely renovated and the hotel will have four new rooms.

According to Karelian, the original look of Pohjanhov is sought to preserve some elements as a natural part of its history.

– For example, the marble of the lobby in Lapland is one that wants to keep.

Energy efficiency and swan

In addition to the unifying uniform and change of the service structure, the renovation of Pohjanhov is based on environmental issues. The renovation will renew the hotel ventilation, which, in addition to customer comfort, improves energy efficiency.

– With the reform, we will be able to take our responsibility work to a new level, says Karjalainen.

In Pohjanhovi, the permit search process of the Swan label will begin. This is the toughest environmental brand in the Nordic countries, the technical reforms of which are aimed at the energy use limits.
