The Ski Association, which was in financial difficulties, experienced a new financial setback.

The Ministry of Education and Culture will recover grants from Salppuri Oy, which organizes the Lahti World Cup. According to information received by YLE, the Ministry will recover a total of EUR 154,000 last year’s grants.

Salppuri Oy is owned by the Ski Association and the Lahti Ski Club. Both own 50 % of the company.

The recovery of grants is rare. The amount is also exceptionally high, but also the Kuusamo Erä-Veikkoatu is recovered at € 102,142. In addition, the Vierumäki Country Club is recovered by about € 45,000, EUR 10,000 from the Finnish Curling Association, € 3,163 for the Squash Association and € 3,083 from the Hockey Association.

The Ski Association has recently been in financial difficulties. A year ago, the Ski Association said it had made a loss of nearly EUR 2 million at the Group level.
