More border checks were carried out during the past air tourism season than ever before. The air traffic season for the winter season of Lapland ended in March.

According to a news release from the Lapland Border Guard, a total of 355,682 border checks were carried out during the flight season in October-March, which is more than any of the previous season.

The number of border checks in the last record season of 2023-2024 increased by 10 %.
