The artificial turf field will be closed until Midsummer – a new artificial turf will be installed on the field
The renovation contract costs about € 760,000 to the city of Lahti.
The renovation of the Lahti Kisapuisto artificial turf field will begin next week. Kisapuisto will be closed on Monday, April 7 and is closed until the end of June.
The artificial turf and flexible layer will be renewed and the irrigation system will be improved.
The goal is to complete the work by Midsummer, but weather conditions can affect the contract.
The work will cost the city of Lahti almost € 760,000. The contractor is Saltex Infra Oy.
In the winter, the city had to suspend the acquisition twice due to the errors in the invitation to tender. However, again, tenders have not affected the schedule of artificial turf renovation.
The arrangement of games and exercises is complicated
During the renovation work, the city will organize replacement shifts for the field users on the Kisapuisto training ground, Rakokivi artificial turf field and Mukkula sports area.
The downside is that during spring and summer, there will be changes in training shifts. There are challenges, especially in organizing series games.
– They have to be placed in exceptional training sessions. Most importantly, you do not have to drive to the edge of the field and see that there is a game going on and not being able to practice, says Mannila.
There are now about 2,500 licensed players in FC Lahti and 1,500 players throughout the year.
According to Mannila, the most important thing for FC Lahti is winter conditions. They improve slightly as the old artificial turf of the Kisapuisto is transferred to Karisto field and the artificial turf of Kisapuisto will provide more operations after the renovation.
– The biggest thing is that at the same time there are no other hundred players on the field at the same time, recalls Tommi Mannila, Executive Director.
