Finnair’s flight left 80 suitcases on the ride – overweight had to be reduced

It is estimated that less than half of the travelers’ hold of the passengers were left in Spain. The reason was the overweight of the machine.

Finnair’s flight from Spain to Finland on Sunday left 80 suitcases.

According to the Communications Director, suitcases had to be left on the ride, because due to the headwind, the airplane had to refuel more fuel than usual. The additional fuel was affected by the machine’s weight and therefore other weight had to be reduced.

Each machine has a maximum weight that cannot be exceeded for safety. The plane was also full, there were many luggage and the airplane near Mäkki.

– When fuel is added, something else needs to be omitted. Passengers are not left out, but luggage is left out, Tallqvist says.

In such a situation, he says it is a normal way to leave your luggage specifically.

The flight arrived late but safely at Helsinki -Vantaa Airport yesterday before six. The flight time was longer than normal due to the upwind.

Finnair: Not very common

Tallqvist, Director of Communications, cannot say exactly how often the suitcases have to be left in such large quantities.
