Pelicans’ credit defender suspended for three matches
The league’s disciplinary delegation has imposed a three-match suspension on Pelicans’ Wyatt Kalynuk for the incident in Tuesday’s game against Jukurit.
Lahti Pelicans lost 3-8 to Mikkeli Jukure in a playout series in the Finnish Ice Hockey League on Tuesday night.
The league’s disciplinary committee ruled that Kalynuk’s tackle was almost exclusively on the head of a Jukurii player and was worthy of a three-match suspension. The full reasoning can be found on the SM-liiga website.
Jukurit leads the series 2-1. Four wins will secure their place in the league, while the loser of a pair of matches will be eliminated from the league against the Mestika winner.
