A solar eclipse can be seen all over Finland on Saturday.

A partial solar eclipse will be visible in Finland on 29 March next Saturday, according to the Finnish Astronomical Society Ursa.

The eclipse starts after noon, reaching its maximum phase after half past one in the afternoon and ending at half past two.

The eclipse is most visible in the north-west of the country, and least visible in the south-east. At Lake Kilpisjärvi, almost half of the Sun’s diameter is covered at best. In Helsinki, for example, the Sun is covered by just over a quarter of its area.

Solar eclipse should not be viewed with bare eyes or with ordinary sunglasses, Ursa points out. Glasses developed for this to watch the eclipse are sold. Also, according to Ursa, a welder glass number 14 filters the sun’s infrared radiation well enough.

The last partial eclipse was seen in Finland on October 25, 2022.

In addition to Finland, the solar eclipse is visible on Saturday in the world, but not perfect.

Solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves from the ground to the sun.
