Jenni Vartiainen releases new album with surprising collaborations

The artist released a new album on Friday after a seven-year break.

A new page, a new start.

The singer’s previous album *Monologue* was released in 2018. That was seven years ago.

– I’ve always been a radio artist. But nowadays you do not know which song starts playing on the radio or trendy on Spotify and Tikkok.

But how long can an artist be able to be relevant in time when the competition is so fierce?

– It’s a mystery to me. I have taken more pressure on how I remain relevant to myself. How can I find ways to get excited or create something new.

Vartiainen emphasizes that the record company, in this case Warner Music, has never guided him. He has got his free hands to realize himself as he wanted. The musician believes that authenticity reaches the audience.

– In Spotify, my old songs have risen a lot to power listening. That means that the new generation has found them.

Two muses

Vartiainen is also renewing as a performer. Known for his soft voice, the singer has begun to use gigs more strongly than his voice. He was surprised by it himself.

– I pull from high and hard with the last forces. There has clearly been a need to scream. There has been something inside.

With studio versions of songs, this primitive way to sing is nothing but damped in the background. According to the musician, he makes versions of the records that serve that listening experience.

According to Vartiainen, the music industry often thinks that the next one should always do just bigger. You have to break records and conquer bigger arenas.

– I have bubbles and tingling. The idea is airplane, the visions are great and the desire for experimentation is tough.
