The idea of a hotel was discussed at a Lahti City Council seminar in autumn 2023. The Alatori is designated as a park in the zoning plan.

More than 70 percent of the candidates in the Gulf city council elections who responded to Yle’s election machine think that a hotel should not be built on the Alator.

The majority of the candidates for the municipal elections in Gulf of Galatia who responded to Yle’s election machine are against a hotel for the Alator.

71% of candidates strongly disagree or somewhat disagree with the statement that a hotel should be built on the Alator.

The hotel is opposed by all the left-wing and liberal candidates and almost all the Green candidates.

On the other hand, for example, a mild majority of the coalition candidates, 51 %, agrees somewhat or fully agreed with the electoral canopy.

Responses to the electoral reproduction have left 282 candidates from different parties and groups in Lahti. There are a total of 407 candidates.

However, according to hotel investors, the best place for a hotel in Lahti would be Alatori. The city has visited the Alatori Tornihotel, which is based on the 2029 Ski Championships.
