Police have caught a man suspected of robbing a bus driver in Lahti

Police have arrested a man suspected of aggravated robbery of a bus driver in Lahti on Friday.

On Saturday, the police investigated information about the man’s movements before he boarded a bus, where he stole money at knifepoint from the driver. This revealed the identity of the suspect.

It also turned out that he lives in Mukkula. The 46-year-old man was arrested by the police in a car in Mukkula on Saturday afternoon.

Police start the man’s interrogations today on Sunday.

The events got a start when the suspect began to behave inappropriately towards other passengers during the bus ride. He refused to leave the bus despite the request of the bus driver.

Other passengers left the bus, after which the suspect robbed the steel weapon, threatening a small amount of money between Mukkula and Kilpiäinen.

The suspect was left out of the bus in Kilpiäinen.
