The fox, the hare and the rabbit – three different types of leopard – test what you know about them
The wood hare is the oldest of our three species of hares. A much younger newcomer, the rabbit has been spreading northwards year by year. The story of the Finnish rabbit is a chapter in itself.
There are three species of hares in Finland: the rabbit, the wild hare and the rabbit. The fox is the largest, but some individuals can be difficult to distinguish from the wild hare. The rabbit is the smallest, but the chicks of the fox and the wood rabbit are also small, so it is sometimes difficult to identify species on the basis of size alone.
