The major reform project in Original Sokos Hotel Royal in the center of Vaasa is progressing.

The second phase of the hotel extension is now underway and the demolition work in the additional building has been completed.

There are currently about 120 professionals on site. The construction project will be completed as planned by the turn of the year.

The renovated Royal 2 will open in the spring of 2026.

-Vaasa is one of the most important market areas of KPO, and in recent years we have invested nearly EUR 150 million in the development of the region, says Biskop.

More and larger hotel rooms

The renovated hotel offers more versatile facilities for accommodation, restaurant, event and party use.

The second phase brings 121 new hotel rooms and 354 new beds. The entire hotel has a total of 260 rooms and 655 beds.

Families and groups are particularly taken into account in the design of the rooms. On the Royal 2 side, there are rooms of up to six people, which have been in short supply in Vaasa.

The O’Malley’s Irish pub under construction has room for 550 guests. It invests in, for example, live performances.
