Museum Instagram accounts were returned: The sure reason for closing was not clear
The accounts of the Didrichsen Art Museum and the Museum of Photography were closed for a week.
The Instagram account of the Didrichsen Art Museum was closed on Monday last week, Tuesday of the same week of the Museum of Photography. The accounts of both museums were returned last night.
The Museum of Photography received an English message when returned. It states that the museum’s account has now been studied and complies with Instagram’s community rules. The message regrets what has happened and emphasizes that closing the account was essential for \”community safety\”.
According to Laasanen, Meta, owned by Instagram, seems arbitrary.
– I have wondered what kind of automation they do. For example, the content is divided into different categories based on content, and then automation closes such accounts.
For the Museum of Photography, Instagram is an important communication tool. There are 44,000 followers and the audience has been built for years.
– We are the third largest museum in Finland on Instagram. Our account was removed for a week and we had no guarantees that it would never return. It seemed that our work had been pulled down from the toilet bowl in one fell swoop, Laasanen wonders.
A wider phenomenon
– He said he would pass my message to his team. On Monday, we were again asked for the same information we had previously completed in various application forms.
The message that came the same evening regretted what happened and said that there might be two things. Another would be *\”Positive False Decision\” *.
– Apparently, someone had reported us on Meta’s abuse that was not true. Their automation had experienced our account to close, says Maria Didrichsen.
The second possible reason for the meta announced the inspection during which the Didrichsen Art Museum could not have performed some functions. This explanation is not true because the entire account was closed.
The Didrichsen Art Museum and the Museum of Photography have fate colleagues: it is often difficult to determine the real reason for closing an Instagram account.
