Habitats of the rivers of Lapland are done at a rapid pace – fishermen and nature thanking
In Southern Lapland, the Akkunusjoki River is planning to renovate the Akkunusjoki River.
In Lapland, rivers have been diligently renovated in the 2000s. Last major rehabilitation was completed a year ago in Tervola on the River River River, where gravel was made into chicks and spawning areas and cleaned the rapids from the sludge.
The Simojoki River was also renovated in the 2000s. Last autumn, it was reported that the Lapland ELY Center will build an organic fish road in the old river of the Tornionjoki River Tengeliönjoki.
Six shareholdings of the Alinen Kemijoki River, Lautiosaari, Kirkonkylä, Hirmula, Liedakkala, Ilmola and Alapaakkola are planning to renovate the Akkunusjoki River.
– The will is hard to bring about the Akkunusjoki River Habitat Rehabilitation and quite a long way is the rehabilitation of the River River River in Tervola.
– The aim is to improve the ecological space of the river and to renovate rapids, says Rantajärvi.
The Akkunusjoki River has more than 20 rapids and a fall height of almost 20 meters. The river contains grayling, whitefish, trout and other traditional fish.
– The river is crossing the Keminmaa municipality and Kemi area from that end and the tops seem to go to Tervola. After Honkamaa, the river turns into a wilderness river, says Mäkimartti.
Potential for trout river
– The river has a natural grayling strain and has good potential as a trout river. The clean top of the Akkunusjoki River has naturally oak.
– Quite a lot of salmon has gone ahead because the bigger tributaries are significant for salmon. However, we have some great smaller tributary rivers in Lapland.
Habitats are being rehabilitated in the sidewalks.
– Among other things, the stream -watering fish can be better able to reproduce in the effects of the drainage and interfering with the effects of drainage. This can improve the recovery of fish stocks.
According to Hatanpää, the Lapland ELY Center is able to spend about EUR 250,000 for national money every year.
– It is a prerequisite that private money is also included in the renovation of the objects.
Akkunusjoki River rapids fishing site
The Akkunusjoki River once dropped to the Kemijoki River, but during the construction of the Isohaara dam in the late 1940s, a canal was mined and the river was directed below the Isohaara power plant to the Vähähaara.
In his thoughts, Juha Mäkimartti paints a good recreational fishing destination from the Akkunusjoki River.
– There would be a rapids fishing area in this area. We lack such little rapids for fly and throwing fishermen. The Akkunusjoki River is not a salmon river, but it would be great if it could give you a crab and leather strain and whitefish, grayling and trout to recover.
The renovation of the Akkunusjoki River requires money and good plans.
– The funding pattern is still open, but there has already been interest. If it was clear by next year, we would be able to make a rehabilitation plan and its implementation, says Mäkimartti.
