– Financial flows from different sources must be more effectively directed to nature work. Harmful subsidies need to be addressed, and impressive funding to strengthen nature must be obtained in the future by new means and expanding the funding base, Multala says.

The countries agreed on the current temporary financial mechanism of the agreement, the world’s environmental fund to support international biodiversity measures. Future nature meetings will decide whether to make a funded financial mechanism for the implementation of the contract.
This week, the parties to the UN Biodiversity Agreement gathered in Rome, the Italian capital, to continue negotiating matters that were opened last November at the COP16 meeting in Cal, CAL.
The next UN Nature Meeting COP17 will be held in Armenia in 2026.
