16-year-old Hirvonen is competing today in the combined skiing section of the World Ski Championships. This will be Hirvonen’s first World Championships for adults.

Lahti will host the 2029 Nordic World Ski Championships, and many young athletes have set their sights on success in their home city. It is a dream that is also on Heta Hirvonen’s mind.

The 16-year-old Hirvonen will compete today, 27 February, at the World Ski Championships in Norway in the combined skiing section. This will be Hirvonen’s first World Championships for adults.

– The Lahti Games are exactly four years away. I will be 20 years old, a more mature athlete and ready to succeed. It feels good to have a prospect to train towards,” says Hirvonen in a press release from the City of Lahti.

– Heta Hirvonen is the first choice for a team that aims at the top in our own home race in 2029.

The aim of fresh cooperation is to highlight Lahti as a sports and event city. Cooperation involves marketing communications, joint events and Lahti-visibility in Hirvonen’s competition and national team outfits.
