The South Karelia Recreation Area Foundation, which owns the lodge, believes that the lodge that was destroyed in Ruohosaari over the weekend was not accidentally set on fire.

A crime report has been filed about a wilderness lava burnt to ashes in Ruohosaari, Lappeenranta. The lava is owned by the South Karelia Recreation Area Foundation, which says it filed a police report on Sunday.

The Ruohosaari hut is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Lappeenranta. It is used by paddlers, walkers and skiers, among others. The lodge burnt down between Friday and Saturday night.

The barn fire has awakened the local people’s desire to help.

According to Kurka, the Taliban people would be ready to build a new lean -to before leaving the ice. Kurkaa says that project funding for the lean -to is not available in such a quick schedule, but he does not reject the idea.

– It’s wonderful that people are talcum.

Seems like vandalism

– The fireplace is three meters from the lean -to. It would have been able to burn quite a lot of props in the campfire to spread the fire to the lean -to.

Kurkaa also says that there were no signs at the venue that the fire had spread to the lean -to fire. For example, the benches at the campfire site were not charred. According to him, the lean -to was also very sheltered from the southern wind, which blew on fire night.

The lava was 25 years old and kept

– Really annoying. The location of the lean -to is good because the ice trail goes right next to it at Ruohosaari.
