The Finnish band that reached the Swedish Eurovision final heads to the competition with an attitude: let’s hear the devil at least once more
If KAJ were to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest, he would have to find a replacement word, as the Euro rules prohibit swearing.
KAJ, a band from the Baltic region that made it to the final of the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest, is already chewing on their success in Finland.
– After the show there was a big party and also a really weird feeling. I could never have imagined that we would make it to the final! Now the work continues, and we will improve the show for the final, promises Holmström.
The Swedish Eurovision Song Contest will culminate in the final in Solna on 8 March.
The Vöyrian Humor Band * Bara Bada Bastu * In the stage show you can find fire, barbecue sausage and dancers on the stage. It is also trusted in the finals.
– A bigger sauna or more trees are not seen on stage. We cut and improve small details: for example, using lights and maybe something new to clothes, Holmström ponders.
In addition to training, the program also has a rest to keep the head cold to the final.
Humorous but serious
The Perkele word for the performance is also heard in the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest. However, the euro rules prohibit swearing in competitions.
– The Swedish broadcasting company SVT has not contacted us to change it. If the Eurovision representation were coming off, then it would be time to think about another word, says Holmström.
Next week Kaj will head back to Sweden.
– The week is full of interviews and marketing. We have a pretty much interest because we are a new face in Swedish visas.
The finals go to humor above, but seriously. The band hopes to raise the Finnish sauna tradition.
– The chances of winning can be small, but let’s hope you get a fun and good atmosphere. What a Finnish sauna is at its best.
