– Yes, it’s pretty expensive. If there are no vehicles and you have to rent, then a hundred will easily swing it.

The prices of ski resorts elevator tickets have risen significantly since last year. The rise in prices is explained, among other things, by an increase in VAT on elevator tickets from 10 % to 14 %.

Yle compared last year’s prices to this year’s prices. Last year’s ten most expensive ski resorts were selected for the comparison. Click the arrows at the bottom of the image to browse one and three -day ticket prices changes.

Like last year, the most expensive tickets are in Ylläs, Ruka, Saint and Levi.

For example, last year, a family of three was down for about € 360 for Ruka for three days, this year it costs around € 400.

– As a Finn, winter sports are close to the heart. This is a natural choice.

By buying online you can save

You can save your money in some ski resorts if you buy tickets in advance online. For example, in Levi, Ruka, Holy, Tahko and Vuokatti, it is possible to buy tickets online, where the price is cheaper than when bought on the spot.

For example, Ruka and Holy Savings are made for a family of three for a family of up to about twenty euros. In Vuokatti and Tahko, the savings are more moderate, just a few euros.

Kärävä says that prices had to be raised twice: first in October, about three percent to cover the rise in operating costs and the second time in January when VAT increased.

– These increases do not fully compensate for the growth of our operating expenses caused by inflation. However, we did not want to raise prices more as we strive to keep the lift prices reasonable for our customers, Kärävä tells Yle via email.
