Tires shimmer on Vesijärvenkatu hill – Lahti explores alternatives for more efficient anti -slip
Buses, in particular, have problems with slippery weather at the intersection of Aleksanterinkatu. More grip would also be needed uphill if the routes changed from the current one.
The city of Lahti will find out what would be the best way to combat Vesijärvenkatu’s slippage at the intersection of Aleksanterinkatu.
In slippery weather, especially bus and other heavy cars are difficult to slow down as a busy intersection is approached downhill.
The city is also exploring where local bus exchange stops are in the future. If the routes changed from the present, some buses would have to turn from Aleksanterinkatu uphill to Vesijärvenkatu.
The report on the exchange stop review is commissioned by a consulting company. The purpose is to look at how much more efficient alternatives of anti -slip would cost and have the work.
In addition to maintenance tools, for example, there is a thawing system that should be built under the street.
