Transport robots that grocery shopping are finally coming to Lahti and Hämeenlinna

The cooperative Hämeenmaa will introduce robots during the spring in Lahti and Hämeenlinna in Heinola, Forssa and Riihimäki.

In the spring of 2025, Hämeenmaa will introduce transportation robots in Hämeenmaa. Robots will be used in small luggage orders in Lahti, Hämeenlinna, Heinola, Forssa and Riihimäki.

There is no exact information in Hämeenmaa, which stores will be made of robotic transport. Initially, only a few locations come from the equipment.

Similar devices have already been used in the world and elsewhere in Finland. The Hämeenmaa Cooperative Society has wanted to see how robots do well, for example in winter conditions.

Vandalism has also been targeted at food robots. For example, in Pieksämäki, the shop has even had to report crime reports.

According to Penttinen, the possibility of vandalism is also recognized in Häme.

The result declined, sales increased

The Hämeenmaa Cooperative Society also announced its 2024 results on Wednesday. Sales increased by 2 % compared to 2023, but the profit decreased from EUR 53 million to EUR 50.6 million.
