Light chops in the Lahti Economic Crochet tunnel
Braking of the economy and postponing investment is reflected in improved earnings forecast.
The adjustment of the city’s economy is gradually starting to bite in Lahti. The result of the last financial year is about EUR 9.1 million in deficit, which is less expected.
In addition to economic balancing, the slowdown in inflation has significantly reduced expenditure growth. Last year, one -time operating income and financial income were more than expected. However, compared to the other year, the earnings forecast is over EUR 50 million lower.
The city received 3.3 per cent of operating income, or EUR 5.7 million more than expected in the budget. The operating costs, on the other hand, were 3.1 per cent, or EUR 16 million lower than estimated. Tax revenue rose to EUR 4.5 million higher than estimated.
The city’s financial statements will be completed at the end of March.
