Long -time YLE journalist Sakari Kilpelä is dead

Kilpelä was familiar to viewers from several current affairs programs on Yle.

Kilpelä died of a sudden illness.

Kilpelä worked on YLE’s current affairs programs on both television and radio since the 1990s. At the turn of the millennium, he made programs for MTV3, but later returned to Yle.

During his career, Kilpelä worked, for example, in A -studio, a topical second program in TV1’s first morning and Radio’s number one. Kilpelä retired during the corona years.
