The Lahti Hydrogen and Methane Plant has progressed to the environmental impact assessment.

Nordic Ren-Gas Oy is planning a plant near the Kymijärvi power plant that produces renewable synthetic methane, hydrogen and district heating produced from waste heat. Lahti Energia has been involved in the cooperation.

An open public meeting will be held today, Thursday, in Lahti about the project and its environmental effects, i.e. the EIA program. The event starts at 5 pm in Fellmannia. You can also follow the event online in the Teams link shared by Häme ELY Center.

After the environmental impact assessment, the Lahti project still needs at least environmental and building permits.
