According to the release, Mika Lahti denies the accusations. He is ready to file a criminal complaint for baseless claims.

UMK’s chief producer: Certain things are insured by contracts

– Work has been done here all autumn in order to get the best possible start for this competitor for the main event itself. We have to think about all the contents that have been made here. Many things have to be changed, Autio says.

In practice, however, the show rolls on, regardless of whether there are six or seven participants in the competition, the main producer assures.

– Now this one performer is just missing.

According to Autio, UMK strives to investigate artists’ backgrounds, but it is impossible to completely protect yourself from such situations. Discussions between the production and the artists, including background checks, are based on trust and openness.

– When certain things are insured by contracts, that’s when we believe.

There will be no other participant to replace it

The metalcore band One Morning Left was one of the pre-favorites of the competition with the fun song *Puppy*. The song’s music video has been viewed almost half a million times on UMK’s YouTube page.

With the news, UMK will be reduced by one participant, because according to the rules of the competition, there is no need to take a new representative to replace the one who leaves.

UMK is Finland’s biggest music show. It culminates on the 8th of February at Nokia Arena in Tampere.
