A quarter of a million people travelled through Turku Airport last year

The number of passengers at the airport increased by around 9% compared to last year. On average, the number of passengers at airports in Finland increased by seven per cent.

Last year, Turku Airport had 255 000 passengers. According to Finavia’s statistics, this number will increase by just over 9% from 2023, or about 20 000 passengers.

Last year, Turku Airport was the fifth busiest airport in Finland. It was followed by Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and the airports of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Oulu and Kittilä.

The total number of passengers at the country’s airports was around 19.6 million. In the country as a whole, the number of passengers increased by around 7% from the previous year. The largest increase was recorded at Lapland’s airports.

At the end of March, a direct flight route from Turku to Copenhagen opens. The route will initially be flown with four and later five shifts.

There are currently direct flights from Turku Airport to Stockholm, Riga, Gdansk and Mariehamn.
