From Rintansenvaara there are great views of both Pielisen and Ukko-Koli.

The national landscape of Koli in Lieksa is something that arouses great passions. Pohjois Karjalan Osuuskauppa, which wants more accommodation capacity for Loma-Koli, has come across this.

The controversial Loma-Koli plans in Lieksa will be presented to the public next week, on 23 January.

The event at Hotel Koli will present how the Rintasenvaara coastal land use plan has been amended and extended.

Representatives of the city of Lieksa and Pohjois Karjala Osuuskaupa PKO and a planning architect from Sweco Oy are present.

Preparation of the plan for the Loma-Koli area began in the summer of 2023. The draft plan was presented last spring, and based on feedback, the plan has been modified.

The planning area covers approximately 65 hectares. PKO owns 87 percent of the area, or almost 57 hectares, and the city of Lieksa owns the rest, 8.5 hectares.

The goal of the plan change is to develop tourism in Loma-Koli.

The Lieksa city government will consider the plan proposal in early February. On the same evening, February 2nd, the proposal will be presented to the public for the second time at Koli, in the auditorium of the Nature Center Uko.
