The National Archives said in October that the reason for the change negotiations concerning the entire staff is the weakening financial situation of the agency and the fact that digital services will be the primary service channel of the National Archives in the future.
The National Archives’ change negotiations have ended on Monday, November 28. Arkisto reported on the start of negotiations for all of its personnel in October.
The measures taken as a result of the negotiations concern 29 employees in eight locations.
The National Archives says in its press release that the measures include job changes, furloughs, offering fixed-term employment, the possibility of severance pay, and layoffs.
Personal change discussions will take place with the employees during this week. The number of layoffs is to be decided after discussions.
The National Archives has a total of nine offices. The archive operates in Jyväskylä and Mikkeli, among others.
