The regional board of the welfare area, which will start at the turn of the year, decided to accept the proposal at its Monday meeting.

The criteria for granting family care support are going to be unified in the future welfare area of \u200b\u200bPäijät-Häme. The regional board decided to accept the proposal for unification at its meeting on Monday, November 28.

Organizations related to the welfare area have had different criteria for granting family care. For example, there have been four payment categories in Heinola, and three in Sysmä and Päijät-Sote.

There will be three payment categories for the new welfare area. The situation of dependents receiving Heinola’s lowest support will be clarified during the next year and new decisions will be made if necessary.

In addition, the regional government approved the customer fees of the welfare area to be presented to the regional council from the beginning of January. With a few exceptions, the maximum fees approved by the Government are charged in the welfare area.

Some of the services are defined as free based on the Customer Payments Act. For example, primary care nurse appointments and examinations, treatment and follow-up of pregnant women are free of charge.

The Päijät-Häme welfare area will organize the area’s health and safety services and rescue services from the beginning of 2023.
