This is not the first time that the luxury brand, known for its provocative style, finds itself in the middle of an uproar.
Luxury fashion house Balenciaga has found itself in the middle of an uproar over two advertising campaigns that combine children and porn.
In other pictures presenting the spring collection, children are holding teddy bear handbags dressed in outfits meant for tie-dying. In one picture, there are empty wine glasses and a necklace in front of the child lying on the couch.
The pictures have caused a furious barrage of criticism on social media. Balenciaga has been accused of sexualizing children and promoting child pornography.
Galimberti also resigns from other photos that caused a stir, because they were not taken by him.
Following the uproar, Balenciaga apologized for using the images and pulled the ads. The fashion house also announced that it would initiate legal action against those who were responsible for the images.
– We condemn all abuse of children. We defend the safety and well-being of children, Balenciaga announced on Instagram.
The collaboration with Kanye West ended
This is not the first time that Balenciaga, known for its provocative campaigns, has found itself in the middle of an uproar.
Earlier this year, West had released the popular Yeezy Gap headwear collection in collaboration with Balenciaga.
West’s comments also led to the end of cooperation with sportswear giant Adidas.
