The state-owned Senate Properties will later sell two more residential plots and one terraced house plot in Hennala.
In the former garrison area in Lahti’s Hennala, old buildings have been traded until now.
There have been plenty of enthusiastic buyers. Of the old building stock, only the former garage is still on the sales list.
Several dozen old barracks buildings have been sold to new, private owners for residential use.
Now that the old building base has been sold, Senaatti real estate has started selling plots for new construction.
A small foretaste was given when a single new apartment building by Rakennusliike Olavi Järvinen was completed in 2020 above the former officers’ club. In addition, a new police station has been built in the Hennala area.
Today, state-owned Senaatti kiinteistöt said it sold the first plot of land for the construction of a residential block to TA-Yhtymä Oy and TA-Asumisoikes Oy.
A total of 16,300 floor square meters can be built on the block. There are 4-5 storey buildings with either rental apartments or right-of-occupancy apartments.
New apartment buildings are being built in the southern part of the area and along Helsingintie, south of the flag field.
Hennala is an old garrison area, located about a couple of kilometers from the center of Lahti. The old red brick building stock of the former garrison was built mainly in the 1910s.
The operations of the Defense Forces ended in Hennala at the end of 2014. Senaatti-kinteistöt has developed Hennala in cooperation with the city of Lahti.
