Housing associations are now building charging points for electric cars and trying to reduce energy consumption in their buildings.
Housing associations in Hämälä are keen to build charging infrastructure for electric cars. The Housing Financing and Development Centre ARA has made a total of twenty positive decisions on charging infrastructure grants for residential buildings in Päijät-Häme and Kanta-Häme this year. In addition, there are 40 pending applications in the queue.
Grants of €21.5 million have been earmarked for charging infrastructure this year and €9 million for next year, and €1 million per year for charging infrastructure in workplace buildings both this year and next. There are 17 grant applications from Päijät-Häme and 7 from Kanta-Häme.
Exceptionally large amounts of state subsidies are also available for energy renovations in housing companies and detached houses. The aid pot amounts to around €99 million, after the Government approved on Thursday 17 November an increase of around €30 million in the allocation of energy grants.
Interest in energy renovations has been growing throughout the country. A total of over a hundred applications for energy grants have been submitted from Kanta-Hämee and Päijät-Hämee this year. In terms of numbers, there are more applications for renovations of single-family houses, but the subsidy amounts for renovation projects of building societies are much larger.
At ARA, the processing of applications has been backlogged due to the energy crisis, but the number of handlers has been increased this fall and the backlog has been cleared. Still, the processing of charging infrastructure grants takes an average of 8–9 months, and the processing of energy grants takes more than half a year.
